msiexpert created the topic: Digital Signature and Windows 7
Hello,
I’ve created an personal certificate and signed a install with it.(Wise Package Studio – > Wise script editor)
Then i imported this certificate to add this to my trusted certificates.
With UAC enabled this wil ask for my consent to install the software.
So all is fine.
But my main question is if i need to purchase a “real” digital signature from a CA like verisign or will a personal certificate will be sufficient to deploy software in a corporate enviroment.
can someone tell me what the best thing to do here.
Thanks in advance.

Best thing to do
Find a corporate environment or ten and test it there.
However, since each corporation typically has its own security rules, what works in one environment may not necessarily work in another.
How the users are permissioned will also affect any manual installs, rather than the more typical corporate installs using systems such as SMS, SCCM, Altiris DS or NS.
