What is DevSecOps?
DevSecOps is an extension of DevOps that integrates security practices into every phase of the software development lifecycle, from development to deployment. The goal of DevSecOps is to build security into the DevOps process, ensuring that security is a shared responsibility across development, operations, and security teams. Instead of treating security as an afterthought or a final step, DevSecOps emphasizes "shifting left," meaning that security considerations are integrated early and continuously throughout the development process. This includes automating security testing, implementing secure coding practices, and using tools to detect vulnerabilities in real-time. By embedding security into the CI/CD pipeline, DevSecOps enables organizations to deliver secure software faster, reducing the risk of vulnerabilities and ensuring compliance with security standards.
